First stitches are cast on and worked in twisted rib to form the edge of the neck. When the rib edge is finished, 8 stitch markers are placed and the yoke of the sweater is worked in a raglan construction, starting with a few short rows. When the yoke is finished, stitches for the sleeves are transferred to a piece of scrap yarn stitch holder while the rest of the body is worked.
