Description

I thought I would photograph Eakin Creek West with the box elders instead of heading to the lake

A beautiful sunrise begins the new day while viewing through a paper birch tree at Wildflower Lake

in which the friendly ducks were sad to see me leave (really morning cause it was only about 7:30am)

ICE AGE SMOOTH HEDGE NETTLE (STACHYS TENUIFOLIA)(MINT- (LAMIACEAE) I thought I would photographA beautiful closeup view of a frozen wildcat canyon falls. With the extreme cold temperatures of January and February, waterfalls form as the afternoon sun begins to melt the snowfall from the previous day only to have that snow and water freeze overnight as the temperatures drop to 9F to 0F creating impressive and colorful waterfalls at Starved Rock State Park.
