The wider side has a bevelled edge for pushing threads tight. Shuttle is thin (~3 mm thickness), but solid and very comfortable for weaving. Shuttles are carefully hand sanded and finished with a combination of oil and wax mixture. Choose the wood for the shuttle (all 3 types of woods are hardwoods).
