the midsole is unaffected however upon wear the foxing stripe area will perish

vintage van's style #98 ~ US5.5 style #70 chukka boot check measures & wear atvintage van's style #98 slip on black white checkerboard canvas made in usa circa 1994 used US5. 5 UK4. 5 5 (gum waffle outsole portion measures 24. 4cm) barely worn however sadly the first foxing (stripe) area has now completely cured solidified & will continue to crack & flake away. parts of the friction itself have also hardened & the brittle areas will leave a trail of rubber. the waffle & structure of the shoe itself will hold up to normal wear
