Dogon Ladder 02 This beautiful jug is partThis vintage Dogon ladder comes from the Dogon people of the Ivory Coast. It is hand carved from a single piece of indigenous wood, with carved notch details to form ladder steps. Once ready for use, the ladder would have been leant against a hut. Community members would climb the ladder to fetch grains which were stored on the hut of the roof to keep them safe from animals.
