The stool was hand carved from indigenous wood with curved legs and a concave top. Ethiopian stools are increasingly hard to come across. Deforestation of local woodlands and subsequent protective laws over trees in Ethiopia have made their production grind to a halt, so any stools available are increasingly of a vintage nature.
