He learned the game of chess at the age of five and at the age of ten began to work with IM Peter Smederevac. As a junior he won the championship of Belgrade ans Serbia and at the age of twenty he shared 1st place in the Yugoslav Championship. He became a grandmaster at the age of 22 and reached a peak rating of 2665. He has been a member of the Serbian national team since 1998 and top board
