WW2 German War Merit Cross with Swords 2nd Class Medal - Maker Marked "39" 8 May 1859 medal The body is constructed ofOriginal WW2 German War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern), awarded for military merit involving frontline combat. An earlier tombak cross with bronze finished and the suspension ring clearly marked 39 for Frster & Barth, Pforzheim. Issued to Wehrmacht personnel and other military auxiliaries, this version includes the correct wartime ribbon. A textbook example of this widely awarded German decoration.
