Vintage German Hauptmann von Köpenick Doll Soviet The seam at the collarNice vintage doll of the Hauptmann von Kpenick, about whom numerous movies have been made based on the true story. Basically, in 1906, a man (Wilhelm Voigt) down on his luck buys a Hauptmann's uniform from a junk store and uses it to commandeer some soldiers and detain some public officials in order to get some papers to leave the country to find work. He was eventually pardoned by the Kaiser. This doll could be pre war or possibly East German. I
