Shahnaz underlay Hessian patches have been appliedA 1930s Sarouk rug from northwest Persia. This very beautiful and unusual rug has a gold green field with all over motifs in pink outlined in darker pink in ton sur ton fashion. Dark blue main border; ivory floral guards. Overall wear, to base in some places, which introduces some colour variation into the field. We have repiled a small hole and evened out creasing with a patch to the verso.
